We offer many autism and disability related health care services. I enjoy program and relationship development as well as community outreach.

Through a community partnership, Children's Bureau of New Orleans places myself, a staff psychologist, on location at the New Orleans Child Advocacy Center & Audrey Hepburn CARE Center at Children's Hospital. Children enter a family-friendly atmosphere for forensic interviewing about suspected experiences of child maltreatment. Forensic medical exams are completed with certified pediatricians. Victim advocates, case managers, and social workers provide support, assistance, and referrals to families.As the staff psychologist, I am a mental health representative on the New Orleans Multi-Disciplinary Team comprised of child protection, law enforcement, law, medical, forensic interview, and mental health professionals. As a team we review each case of suspected child abuse making sure we serve the community and families to the best of our abilities and roles.As the only clinical provider on-site, I provide trauma-focused assessment and psychotherapy to children ages 4-17 years and their non-offending caregivers. Primarily youth present with a history of child sexual abuse or problematic sexual behaviors. Other common reasons for treatment include child physical abuse and witnessing domestic or community violence. Caregivers are an integral part of their child's treatment. I primarily utilize TF-CBT, CPP, and PCIT interventions.I have had the privilege of providing education and training to professionals and stakeholders in the community. I trained New Orleans Police Department Crisis Response Team in youth development and crisis intervention. I assisted in training Child Protective Services' supervisors across three regions in Louisiana about implementing trauma-focused policy in daily practice. I have provided training and on-going consultation to certified child abuse pediatricians and nurse practitioners in suicide risk assessment and safety planning. I also provided community-based training about children with sexual behavior problems.

Full-time psychology fellow and primary responsibility was the provision of tier-III mental health services to military children and families (individual, dyadic, family therapies). Much time is spent in consultation with other mental health providers (school counselors, social worker, military family life counselor, school psychologist), special education or response to intervention staff, teachers, paraprofessionals, nursing staff, and school administrators. My work is supervised by licensed psychologist, Phill Stepka.

APA-Accredited psychology internship with a specialty focus in infant/child mental health. Strong emphasis on psychological assessment and numerous individual/group supervision experiences. Weekly APA-approved internship didactic and Harris Infant Mental Health didactics. My clinical experiences included outpatient therapy to infants, children, adolescents, and families of the New Orleans area. Typical presenting problems included trauma as related to physical, emotional, and sexual maltreatment, community violence, and natural disasters. Forensic work was also common related to the LSU Infant/Child Court Team which contracts with Dept of Child/Family Services of Orleans and St. Bernard Parishes to provide services to children who experienced abuse/maltreatment, biological family members (often identified as perpetrators), and foster families. My third year of school-based services/consultation work was with children of military families in a charter elementary/middle school on a military naval base.

I performed as a master's level graduate student therapist at Hamilton Center's Child-Adolescent Services as well as at the Clay County office with a rural population. I conducted individual, group, and family therapies in outpatient and school settings. I additionally applied for and received a health care relate grant to fund a new Chronic Pain Management Group Therapy, which I created based on the clinical population's need and in order to improve utilization of health care resources.Psychological assessments were typically referrals from Department of Child Services, Juvenile Probation, and Medicaid.I also had the privilege of conducting systemic consultations with the after school program of a YMCA, a local police department, and a Girl Scouts troop.

I assisted the ISU Psychology Clinic's administrative assistant and clinic director in the daily procedures of this community-based, and graduate-student staffed clinic. Some of my duties included: managing client's appointments, balancing client's insurance and out-of-pocket payments, taking therapy and assessment referrals, scheduling and organizing the ADHD Evaluation clinic, conducting brief computer-based attention assessments.

As a research assistant for a community-based ADHD Evaluation Clinic, I scored and organized assessment data from each child's evaluation (ages 5-12).
