The projects I manage include developing an anti-colonial map highlighting toxic industries and climate change impacts in BIPOC communities across Canada, championing the passage of Bill C-226 (Canada’s first environmental justice bill), and contributing to initiatives related to a national environmental justice strategy.Beyond project management, I engage in government relations, partner engagement, internal communications, and social media campaigns. Additionally, I serve as the editor-in-chief of our newsletter which highlighted diverse voices through a team of BIPOC and youth contributors.Key achievements in this role include playing a key role in advocating for the passage of Canada's first environmental justice law through letters, releases, petitions and meetings. Similarly, I have led national events highlighting critical environmental justice issues, including the recent celebration marking the passage of the Environmental Justice Strategy Act. I have guided the team through the final stages of launching our website, launching & publishing impactful CCECJ newsletters. I’ve played a leading role in organizing, coordinating, and facilitating various online events, including a discussion on the national EJ strategy with government representatives which had 100+ attendees. -
