This position supports Hospitality Services at the Detroit Branch, and is responsible for coordinating and executing events and selling the Conference Center to external clients. Position coordinates all sales efforts and logistics related to events and serves as main point of contact to client and departments supporting execution of client requests and needs. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Proactively works with all clients to identify and fully understand program and event needs including room set up information, audio visual, catering menu selections, arrival and departure pattern. Actively assists in developing a marketing plan for identifying organizations who meet the outreach eligibility guidelines, and proactively conduct outside sales calls to solicit business. Provides direct catering support staff as client requirements dictate, and liaise with food service management as needed. Provides accurate and timely information to all departments for planning and execution, and proactively liaises with departments to ensure all details and last minute changes are addressed. Provides logistical support ensuring all client requests are met by checking room set-up, audio visual/technology, and catering are set according to department service and operational guidelines. Performs audio visual set-up for events and works with IT or others for video conferencing or other specialized technical services. Provides exceptional customer service in all interactions to include greeting clients and directing attendees. Assists management with a variety of duties, which include, but are not limited to, supervising work flow and delegation of daily activities, providing staff training and guidance, metrics and reporting on activity in the Conference Center, assisting with the department budget and monitoring expenses and other projects within the hospitality services department as identified by management.
