I led the University of York Global Opportunities team of study abroad, short courses and summer schools support and teaching staff, establishing over 300 quality learning abroad programmes, from short-term immersion experiences, bespoke short courses, semester and year-long placements for students at York and visiting students, within the framework of strategic university, international, accessibility and employability objectives.I have developed strong inter-cultural skills and long-lasting working relationships with worldwide institutions and organisations; collaborating to identify and create sustainable and inclusive student opportunities for life-changing cross-cultural experiences, securing funding via Erasmus, Turing and York alumni funded schemes.I have led new projects through external business and contractual negotiations, internal approvals processes, to team implementation (planning, promotion, academic and professional services coordination, student guidance and support, programme scheduling, monitoring and assessment, funding and reporting).I have been Chair of UUKi Outward Student mobility network (2021-2024), a sector practitioner group working with UUKi Global Mobility team to promote international mobility, develop strategy, share best practice, and lobby for sector improvements and have previously held the Chair of the Executive committee of BUTEX (2015-2017), a sector organisation working on behalf of UK institutions.I have presented and chaired at a range of international education sector events both in UK and abroad, including NAFSA, US Embassy London, BUTEX, Universities UK, University Council for Languages, British Council International Higher Education Forum. I represented UK university sector at a meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group for International Students, in the House of Lords, to discuss "developing and enabling student exchange" and have been a member of the Department for Education Turing Stakeholders group.
