• Prepare and manage department business plans and annual budget in line with Sydney Adventist Hospital strategic plan and taking corrective action when appropriate.• Selection and recruitment, orientation, training, performance management and motivation of department personnel.• Direct accountability for approximately 18 staff members, including Clinical Dietitians, Outpatient Dietitians, Dietitian Assistants, Nutrition Assistants and administration staff.• Menu development of patient menus in accordance with current food safety standards, quality standards, dietetic guidelines and policies of the department and the mission of the Sydney Adventist Hospital.• Prepare job descriptions, organisational charts, manuals and guidebooks covering all necessary phases of departmental operations and processes.• Evaluate the dietetic services provided by being active in the development of routine quality management activities, implementing plans of action for deficient areas as appropriate.

• Play an active role in facilitating the development of the relationship between Information Systems and the Service Areas across the Hospital to bring about a successful conclusion of the project.• Work with the project teams, business units and steering committees to bring the projects to a successful close in a timely manner.• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of existing applications and upgrades in the areas of direct responsibility and the benefits to the organisation if the proposed work is undertaken.• Providing support for team decisions ensuring the results contribute positively to the organisation’s goals; monitoring results to ensure the team meets it goals; mentoring team members as required and delegating tasks.• Providing self-initiative and directions, with recognition, encouragement, constructive criticism, and other feedback; setting and monitoring performance goals for self and subordinates.• Recognising and responding effectively to unexpected situations; handling crises and stress calmly and effectively; responding to tight time deadlines.

• Work closely with medical staff, nursing and allied health personal giving guidance as necessary to provide high quality patient nutritional care.• Participate in menu revision, liaising with food service staff and providing guidance regarding special dietary requirements and general nutritional needs of patients.• Develop patient education material and presentations for use with inpatients and outpatients.• Participate in student training programs and mentoring.

• Assisting Deputy CEO and Director of Risk Management in the development, documentation and implementation of a health service committee structure. • Liaising and coordinating with key members of staff in relation to the health services group communication processes (now known as Adventist HealthCare) and also separate entity communication processes; Sydney Adventist Hospital, Dalcross Adventist Hospital, San Day Surgery and San Diagnostics.• Develop a committee Terms of Reference (TOR) template, committee policy and support all committee chairs in adopting and reviewing current committee TOR to encourage consistency across the service.

• Work closely with medical staff, nursing and allied health personal giving guidance as necessary to provide high quality patient nutritional care.• Inpatient and outpatient specialisation in nutrition and cardiac health.• Conducting nutrition assessments and interventions on inpatients and outpatients specific to those patients that have been diagnosed with cancer or HIV or those patients that are under palliative care initiatives.• Conduct thorough community dietetic consults at patient’s residences and coordinate appropriate nutritional intervention and products as required.• Coordinate and present regular community group presentations within the Cardiac Rehabilitation service of the hospital.• Develop patient education material and presentations for use with inpatients and outpatients.
