Act as designated officer in charge of the organization’s daily activities in the President’s absence. • Responsible for directing multiple major program and administrative activities for the organization and its affiliates and subsidiaries (5 organizations with 45 staff), including supervision of Human Resources department and back-office CFO/finance department, interagency legal agreements/compliance, centralized grants management, shared staffing models, etc. • Responsible for co-designing and managing a $4.5 million annual operating and grants budget from EHF’s endowment, along with the alignment of an additional $15-20 million per year in total funds managed from other sources. • Provide leadership for strategic organizational development (e.g., growth, staffing decisions, intersection between entities, development of new entities, long-term financial and programmatic impact of decisions, etc.). • Lead executive for engagement of EHF Board of Directors. Senior Program OfficerEmpire Health Foundation Sep 2013 - May 2016• Leadership responsibility for multiple Strategic Grants Programs including Obesity Prevention, Child Welfare Reform, Adverse Childhood Experiences in K-12 setting, and Oral Health. • Community impact results include a) partnering with Spokane Public Schools to reduce out-of-school suspensions by 61% over three years at Rogers High School, and b) significantly reducing childhood obesity rates with the anchor strategy of catalyzing nine school districts to implement healthy scratch cooking (for which 4.5 million meals per year are impacted).• Managed roughly $1.5 million in annual grants, directed at achieving measurable impact. Provided leadership in the budget design and management of approximately $5 million in total annual organizational spending including both grants and operating expenses. • Supervised multiple program staff as well as a variety of field staff and consultants. Directed Foundation’s Human Resources activities. • Chief executive project manager for start-up entity implementing Performance Based Contracting for Child Welfare Reform efforts in seven-county region, which has delivered significant impact such as 40% improvement in missed parent-child visit rates, reduction in waiting lists, 50% cost savings in concrete goods provided, etc.
