Perform reference duties for the Teen and Adult reference departments; including reader's advisory and computer assistance. Monitor collection development of the Teen Department through ordering and weeding materials. Plan and oversee Teen programs.

Perform library branch duties including: processing holds, circulation and reference. I plan and present preschool storytime.

Supervised three Children’s Department staff. Conducted collection development for both Teens and Children’s Departments through ordering and weeding materials. Ordered needed supplies for programs and crafts. I planned programming for children and teens. Organized the summer reading program for special programming, flyers, decorations, publicity and prizes needed. I enjoyed this position, but while being there for two months, my husband was offered a promotion, which relocated us to Knoxville, TN.

Daily, I helped with the research and information needs for the student population; including both reference and reader’s advisory, perform collection development, processing and copy cataloging, create informational and promotional displays and bookmarks with Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Fireworks. Larger projects I have been involved with include implementing a school-wide survey, with Survey Monkey, to discover how patron needs were being met within the library and what changes would be appreciated, helping with the planning of a new website, produced video tutorials with Screentoaster and started a student book club that meets once a month.

Answered reference and reader’s advisory inquiries for both adults and teens. I was part of library improvement by implementing a new website and increasing community wide programs. Took part in teen programming and improved teen access to information by creating pathfinders. Taught basic computer skills classes for adults. Helped with the marketing and implementation of the Summer Reading Program and was willing to dress up in many costumes; including Mary Poppins.

Answered reference and reader’s advisory inquiries for children. Helped with the summer reading program and the preparation of current and future children’s programs. Created a better working environment by organizing all storytime props, objects and flannel boards for the children’s department.
