The core part of my role is engagement and developing relationships with businesses and residents. From these relationships we are building networks and a community of people that begin to shape and inform a shared vision for the area they work in. These conversations also build a picture of what the shared place capital of a space - the social, cultural, economic, physical and environmental elements that make up a space. These elements are the tools that help build an identity for the space.To test this vision we are working on short term and semi-permanent activation and change in partnership with businesses and residents while planning for longer term planning to fulfill this shared vision. Governance is also a key part of Placemaking and Place management and this role is an opportunity to test and trial different models.

In my role I work on events with major state significance including:• The Tour Down Under UCI World Tour Cycling Race• The Clipsal 500 V8 Supercars• Music Festivals – Summadayze, Future Music Festival and Soundwave• Adelaide Olympic and Paralympic Welcome Home Receptions 2012A key focus of my role is negotiation with both internal and external stakeholders to reach outcomes that best meet all parties’ requirements. My role also involves the development and delivery of multiple internal eventsincluding the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting and Hey Sister! (A sister city celebration).
