To partner assigned portfolio areas to shape, develop and deliver their people management imperatives and priorities, and work closely to drive a high-performance culture. I support the portfolio areas to achieve their strategic objectives through the effective delivery of their People Strategies and the University People & Culture Strategy, enabling the development of more skilled, empowered, and motivated teams that are engaged to support the objectives.

I was a key member of both central and devolved HR teams across the University and developed a detailed understanding of the full operation of my portfolio area, its strategic vision and objectives, and lead the local HR team to deliver a tailored best in class HR service.

The key purpose of this role relates to the delivery of a high level comprehensive, efficient and professional HR service to managers, staff and clergy throughout Diocesan House and all its framework teams. This includes HR support to the offices of the Bishop of Dover and the Archdeacons of Canterbury, Maidstone and Ashford. The Director of HR will take ownership of the day to day running of the HR function for the organisation with responsibility for creating and delivering projects and driving the people strategy.

To provide an HR service in relation to clergy management matters with an emphasis on the Ecclesiastical Offices (Terms of Service) Measure (2009) and providing an HR service of comparable breadth to Diocesan employees.
