As a Director of Finance Sustainability in the Office of the CFO, I am responsible for key initiatives, including driving clarity, transparency, and accountability around Microsoft's 2030 sustainability commitments. I partner closely with Microsoft's central sustainability team, business group sustainability leads and subject matter experts to create alignment, tackle difficult issues, and generate a cohesive understanding of progress to date. Prior to this role, I was the Director of Business Operations for Microsoft Global Workplace Services (GWS) responsible for organization-wide effectiveness. My role included strategic planning and management for the overall organization, including priorities, charters, rhythm of business, meetings and events, G&A budgets, workforce management, and strategic programs and initiatives to ensure leadership and team alignment and adherence to processes and procedures.I worked closely with the CVP and advised on strategic decisions and prioritized alignment and execution with the leadership team. I supported executive level communication -- optimizing the CVP’s time by organizing daily communications, developing presentations and messaging and storytelling. In addition, I was responsible for the following programs for GWS: Global Compliance, Global Communications, Venture Integration, Business Continuity and Emergency Response and Preparedness. Prior to joining Microsoft, I was a corporate governance and securities attorney for 15 years starting at the law firm Perkins Coie LLC and then in house for several public companies, including T-Mobile, Starbucks and Coinstar. As a corporate governance and securities attorney, I focused on strategic transactions (including mergers and acquisitions), financial reporting, investor relations, communications, stock exchange compliance and advising on a broad range of corporate governance matters. I supported the public company Board of Directors and its committees, including advising on executive compensation, equity plans, disclosure obligations and related party transactions. I prepared and reviewed public company proxy statements and other public filings.
