An independent nonprofit, Activate manages a fellowship program for entrepreneurial scientists and engineers. Our goal is to empower scientists and engineers to bring world changing technology to market with a focus on solutions to the climate crisis. As Program Continuum Director, I am responsible for designing and implementing the educational programming over the two year fellowship to ensure our scientists are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and beliefs they need to be successful hard tech entrepreneurs. I oversee the programming offerings for our alumni community who continue to do incredible things in the world and programming for potential fellows and hard tech entrepreneurs everywhere through our Activate Learn open source entrepreneurial education platform.

Led a change management process to turn around a one of the lowest performing schools in the district to one recognized for excellence in the Bay Area for low-income students. I led this change by collaborative creation of a new vision, aligned strategic priorities, and relentlessly focusing on hiring, developing, coaching, and retaining a strong a diverse leadership team and staff at all levels.

Los Angeles

Teach For America is a national teacher training program placing teachers in high-needs schools nation wide. In this role, I set the vision and strategic direction for a leadership team to hire, onboard, train, and coach 120 staff members annually. We prepared these 120 staff members to coach new teachers in areas of instruction, culture, diversity and inclusion.

In this role on the TFA Institute Management Team, my role entailed establishing relationships with district and schools to partner with them for our teachers to teach summer school at their site to their students; managed the development of a summer school curriculum to set students up for success; and trained and managed our summer staff.

Trained and coached 38 new teachers to create inclusive classrooms focusing on instructional practices, classroom culture, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
