I facilitate student learning of ArcGIS by hosting office hours and answering questions. I review student assignments by checking their analysis and mapping process in addition to providing feedback on the assignments. I am often students first point of contact regarding class material and am always eager to assist.

I assist in student learning of exploratory data analysis in python. I provide feedback on assignments as well as answer questions in a lab setting.

I provide GIS skills and data analysis to Vital Strategies focusing on overdose prevention at the county and state level. This includes mapping resources, such as libraries, fire departments, and pharmacies providing naloxone, across rural areas to highlight areas where overdose prevention services are most needed. I am in charge of obtaining and cleaning all data necessary. I also have created a Harm Reduction 101 introductory resource package to share with partners new to the topic.

I provided research assistance to the Global Health Studies Program at the Council on Foreign Relations including being the sole research support for a senior fellow for 3 weeks covering 5 different events. I researched current trends in global health to support articles for Think Global Health (and other publications and events) as well as conducted speaker research for upcoming symposiums and conferences.

I researched policies and programs across the Pacific region for the Regional Environment, Science, Technology, and Health (ESTH) Hub for the Pacific. A major focus of this position was providing information on nationally determined contributions in the Pacific to advise Washington D.C. colleagues in preparation of the 2021 Leaders Summit on Climate. I also provided background information and supporting analysis specifically focused in the areas of health and technology. Specific areas investigated include the WASH initiative, COVID-19, and non-communicable diseases.

I assist in recruitment and engagement for the Indiana University O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. In this role I give tours and information sessions to prospective students while answering their questions about the school. On the engagement side, I help plan events for current O'Neill students to help them engage with the school and the O'Neill community.

As the Teaching Assistant for Negotiations and Alternative Dispute Resolution I facilitate classroom discussion and activities. I assist in the virtual needs of this hybrid-online class, and grade assignments. Additionally, I answer any and all student questions regarding the class and class material.

I assist in recruitment for the O’Neill School emphasizing the student experience and student life. I conduct tours and lead information sessions for prospective O’Neill students. I ensure that all questions about the school are answered and that students leave their visit with a comprehensive understanding of the O'Neill School and how it can fit into their future.

I was the Teaching Assistant for an Intro to Public Budgeting course where I provided insight on lecture topics and resources related to the class topic. One of the days of class, I taught a lecture on how to use Microsoft Excel specifically for creating a personal budget. I also regularly fielded questions and concerns from students before, during, and after class as well as tracking daily attendance.

Undertook a consulting project in which my team advised the president of Indiana University on undergraduate student employment. In this role, I worked on the entire project from conceptualizing it and persuading president McRobbie it was a topic worth researching to presenting our results to the president and IU Vice Provosts. My major points of focus in the project were meeting with stakeholders, data analysis, and data interpretation. Ultimately we provided several recommendations to Indiana University - Bloomington that will be used moving forward to enhance the university.

Working in government relations has opened my eyes to a whole new world of policy. I write weekly on current events and their impact on stakeholders. Creating presentations, voice-overs, commercials, info-graphics and more is a regular part of my job as well. Lastly, I provide international political and economic analysis on a variety of topics including social responsibility and diplomacy.

I researched COVID-19 testing criteria across all 50 states in order to compare each states’ response to the virus. In doing so, I tracked the criteria in Microsoft Excel and then developed a programming-based decision logic to be analyzed. In doing the research, I navigated state websites and legislation as well as contacting necessary state officials when testing criteria published online was unclear of missing.

As an Indiana University student, I participated in a Diplomacy Lab course where I consulted for Embassy Mexico City on natural disaster preparedness and risk. In particular, my work focused on analyzing the volcanic risk to Mexico and how prepared the Embassy and its consulates were. The resulting product included policy recommendations to the Embassy for before, during, and after volcanic activity in Mexico. At the end of the semester, I gave a final presentation to high-ranking members of the consular services department showcasing the final product and results.

In my research experience with the National Institute on Drug Abuse I worked on 8 different research projects with topics ranging from college students’ use of caffeinated alcoholic beverages to online programming in order to help substance users recover. I also worked on an independent editorial project on maternal and infant mortality and morbidity due to substance use in developing countries. I honed many skills in my time with NIDA including survey research, literature reviews, editing a manuscript and more. I regularly used the Microsoft Office Suite, international databases, and survey software such as REDCap.

As a member of the CEWiT Undergraduate Research Program, I examined how opioid addiction is expressed in fiction literature to further understand the lifestyle of addiction and addicts. Through this research, I have experience working with large datasets and database analytical programs. I was detail oriented when working with the data and spent multiple weeks cleaning the data using OpenRefine. Separate from my research project, I competed in a research hackathon on women in business to improve collaboration skills and provide experience with industry professionals.
