Responsible for establishing the Mount Washington Resort Association dba Tourism Mount Washington as the destination marketing organization for the resort. Building awareness and representing Mount Washington and its stakeholders within the tourism industry and national and international markets. Areas of responsibility included: Operational management; Strategic planning; New business development; Internal & external marketing; Membership, industry & community relations. Working with the volunteer board of directors to determine a vision to work with the membership to develop a vibrant resort community and to promote Mount Washington as the preferred recreational and tourism destination on Vancouver Island.Developing and managing the implementation of internal & external marketing plans and tactics in line with the strategic goals set to meet the vision and goals of the association.

Clients included international and local companies. The needs of each client being addressed on short-term contracts or extended retained contracts.

My role involved incorporating the company's strategic marketing plans in conjunction with the Director of Sales & Marketing, for whom I deputised during absences. Responsibilities included: Market analysis and support in reaction to field sales activity and the product development programme; Price book & budget management; Co-ordinating special 3rd party projects and overseeing Group Marketing support requirements within the UK and Europe.Taking an active role as part of the management team in significantly altering the sales and marketing strategy as the company emerged from being a manufacturing led company to a marketing led organization.Achievements included the research & development of vertical marketing activities in line with the overall strategic marketing plans resulting in the doubling of turnover over a period of 2 to 3 years.
