Provide strategic planning, program design, and manage the day-to-day on the ground implementation of a low-income ECO program funded by Xcel energy aimed at recruiting, training, and retaining BIPOC communities and women in energy efficiency careers. A few areas to highlight in my work at CEE:•Secure new funding streams of over $1M to expand workforce development programs and supportive services through Ramsey County, CenterPoint Energy, and Minneapolis Foundation. •Establish and maintain key partnerships with local CBOs, technical colleges, and employers to connect qualified candidates to family-sustaining careers in Energy Auditing and Insulation. •Partner with CAPI to secure 100K in grant funding for Green Career Pathways from ARPA dollars allocated to the City of Minneapolis. •Advocate and co-lead organizing for anti-racism and cultural competency training for staff and employer partners to create a more inclusive work environment for people of color and women entering the sector.•Collaborate effectively across org-wide departments including Marketing & Communications, Human Resources, and Accounting.

In this role I provided strategic direction for workforce development and career pathway services that impacted up to 800 families facing barriers to employment annually. As a Program Coordinator, I implemented client-centered program models that uplifted people's strengths and talents. Collaborated with MFIP (Minnesota Family Investment Program) Employment Services team to:- Create resumes for clients using the latest industry standards.- Coach clients one-on-one in career and educational pathways exploration using O*Net Holland Code Assessment, and Motivational Interviewing skills. - Build and maintain partnerships with local non-profit organizations, CareerForce centers, and Adult Basic Education schools to promote workshops at the Training and Education Center.

- Created Scope and Sequences that have had an organization wide impact, including an Adult Career Pathways (ACP) course that integrates TIF skills and CCRS & Northstar Digital Literacy Standards for Adult Learning. - Led a Curriculum Development Project that involving 60+ hours of building employer relationships with organizations that employ entry-level healthcare positions.- Collaborated with Inver Hills Community College Nursing Instructor to ensure success of Adult English Learners on all unit exams and skill assessments.

- Coordinated school-wide services for English Learner (EL) program.- Collaborated with K-6 Educators, Special Education Team to ensure best instruction practices.- Instructed, planned and designed engaging lessons for all English Learner students. - Acted as a Cultural Liasion between families and staff to bridge cultural fluency gaps. - Advocated for professional development for staff on the needs of English Learners

Designed a relevant and engaging curriculum for English Learner students for over 50 students entering 6th-8th grade by:- Instructing students new to the country to those more advanced in English using a peer mentoring model and a bilingual paraprofessional so all students could write letters to Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai. - Differentiating instruction so all English Learners could successfully gain the skills needed to edit, revise, and publish a letter to Malala - Providing opportunities to learn using multiple modalities through showing videos, acting in reader's theater, creating haikus and pair-and-share activities- Creating a final project to showcase the students written letters for all summer school students

Co-taught and collaborated with 6th grade science teacher to engage intermediate to advanced English Learner (EL) students in using academic language and strategies to help increase language proficiency based on WIDA standards of reading, writing, listening and speaking. - Provided support for EL students so that they can use academic language as a tool of empowerment. - Promoted high achievement through culturally-responsive teaching practices and hands-on lessons. - Involved in planning EL Family Night, Book Fair and other events to engage families of our students.- Completed Home Visit training through SPPS

Raised the bar for English Language instruction for all 3rd-6th grade English Learners through: - Developing Scope & Sequences for English Language Development time (a 40-minute set block during the students' day) based on MN & WIDA standards.- Collaborating and Co-teaching with mainstream classroom teachers in English language instruction and best teaching practices to boost EL achievement. - Incorporating engaging, hands-on instruction using Smartboard, Ipads and collaborative group work so all English Learners could be successful.

Trained by the Ellen Baker institute through Children's Defense Fund Freedom Schools program, I worked with a group of 6th grade students from Academia Cesar Chavez for an 8-week summer program to accomplish the following: - Collaborated with local organizations to provide real-life experience for 6th grade scholars. - Demonstrated creativity, flexibility and responsibility through my roles as a mentor and teacher. - Incorporated social justice themes into my classroom specific to issues facing Latinx students.

Organized meetings and campus-wide events to raise awareness about the complexities of the immigration system. -Worked collaboratively with World Relief staff to bring national thought leaders to speak to university students and faculty about immigration (co-authors of the book "Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion & Truth in the Immigration Debate" Jenny Hwang and Matthew Soerens and Dr. Roy Germano director and filmmaker of "The Other Side of Immigration"). -Built partnerships with the university's administration to gain sponsorship for events.- Served as a Student Ambassador in Washington D.C. to speak to representatives about immigration reform through the "Bible, Badges & Businesses" initiative sponsored by the National Immigration Forum.
