Elementary educator turned customer service manager. My ten years in the classroom were not only a wonderful teaching opportunity, but a learning opportunity for me as well. I quickly understood the importance of good management skills, as I was responsible for the well-being and education of 25+ young minds each year. Much knowledge was gained within those four concrete walls, and my students proved to be powerful teachers.Currently, I am a customer service manager at a fast-growing water treatment company. I find myself relying heavily on the skills I developed during my time as a teacher. The parallels of these two professions are many. I have learned that leadership success is best achieved in leading by example with respect and empathy for others.
