I’m a Data Engineer intern at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. I am passionate about marrying my technical skills with a public health and biology background, so working in the healthcare industry is a perfect place for me. During this internship, I have had the opportunity to learn about query optimization and how to build ETL pipelines. I will also help with data migration from on-premise to the cloud. Since this was my first tech internship, I have learned the value of working as a team in a corporate environment. I am excited to continue working with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and am thankful to have started my healthcare tech career here. I am also a graduate student in the MCIT program at UPenn, driven by my desire to advance my computer science knowledge. I have taken a course about software development using Java and Python, a Data Structures and Software Design course, and a Computer Systems course, which has deepened my understanding of coding and computer science. I graduated from Coding Dojo, a full-stack bootcamp where I learned HTML, CSS, Python, Flask, MERN, C#/.NET, and MySQL. Projects and daily algorithms have sharpened my problem-solving skills and independence. I also took coding-based classes focused on data science, machine learning, and bioinformatics alongside graduate students during my Biochemistry degree. I am eager to leverage my technical knowledge to develop meaningful solutions.
