“Inch by inch, life's a cinch. Yard by yard, life's hard.” ― John Bytheway As a new GM walking into an unprofitable Arby’s in 2009, my mind was flooded with a million things that needed to improve. I learned quickly that I had to choose my battles, correct specific issues, and then move on to new problems. I built a team that cared about the customer experience, and we were rewarded with a massive growth in repeat customers. We worked to create efficient systems that improved workflow and allowed for consistent delivery of quality products and services. The customer support was fantastic. Over time, our restaurant was not only profitable but thriving. In 2013 the Mount Washington location surpassed 1 million in sales for the first time, and sales have continued to climb since. During the 6 years since my time at Arby’s, I have worked as a Database Support Specialist and a Project Manager at RSS Technology Solutions. As a Project Manager, I have worked closely with new clients, Install Technicians, IT Helpdesk personnel, the Shipping and Receiving Department, and various 3rd parties to make sure that RSS meets customer needs and installation deadlines. I have helped clients maximize their profits by: -Developing custom menus for their Focus and Microsale POS programs. -Hosting remote and on-site training sessions. -Building and Providing user manuals to support training efforts. -Staging hardware, installing software, and using Freedcamp to delegate similar tasks to the RSS team. -Coordinating the install of new hardware and software. -Supporting customers through credit and gift card processor changes, online ordering setup, inventory setup, QSR Automations product setup, and some loyalty setup. -Providing live-day on-site training and support from open to close and observing ways to further customize menus for smoother day-to-day operations. -Guiding management through questions that arise post live-day. -Helping customers get the most out of the Helpdesk Support and Database Management options -Editing and finalizing service orders so that clients only get charged for services and equipment delivered. -Working on the IT Support Helpdesk and covering on-call hours so that customers have 24/7 support options I had so many opportunities at RSS to hone new skills, stretch outside of my comfort zone, and accept new challenges. I consider myself blessed to be able to continue to build on those skills in my new position as a Point of Sale Software Support Specialist at Sync Payments.
