Developed all the skills required for working in a busy community pharmacy. Built upon skills from previous work experience. Learned all the basic processes involved in every day pharmacy management. Repeat prescription service, addict prescriptions, MUR, owings, stock ordering, counting, endorsing and filing prescriptions etc. Strengthened my customer service skills. Built confidence in counselling patients and recommending products. The placement also helped me to greatly improve my drug knowledge, giving me the confidence, qualities and knowledge required to work competently in a busy community pharmacy.

Dispensary and medicines counter work. Checking and correcting incoming orders, stocking shelves, labeling and assembling prescriptions ready for checking and processing completed prescriptions. Morning: worked with regular members of staff sharing the workload during the busiest time of the day. Afternoon: worked alone at the medicines counter, shelf filling, stock checking, sales, prescriptions and health inquiries.
