I have 15 years of experience in the academic sector, teaching in the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology in Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Malaysia. I have a background in computational mathematics and programming. My research interest is natural language processing, particularly in automatic speech recognition. I have experiences in developing automatic speech recognition for an under resourced language in Malaysia while pursuing my PhD study in France. My ultimate goal is to collect and document indigenous languages in the country using computer technology.I am also active in community work by participating in projects related to IT awareness and outreach programmes all over Malaysia. I teach Scratch programming for kids (10-12), for teachers and adults to inculcate programming skills and promote digital making activities through Makerspace@UNIMAS, an open lab in the university.
