Organise and administer departmental conferences, events, and CPD courses.Administer travel and accommodation bookings for the Department.Provide general administrative support for the Sociology Department and SATSU.Manage the publication of the journal, iCS, in accordance to its strict publishing schedule - working closely with the Editor and Production staff at Taylor & Francis.Events & Travel ManagementBooking travel and accommodation for colleagues, delegates, and visitors, using the University approved systems and ensuring that all bookings are made in line with the University’s policiesOrganising and administering events such as conferences, department seminars, workshops, and short courses (e.g. CPD). Liaising with delegates, external guests, and visitors.Administering event financesProduction of conference materialsAttend conferences or events to provide supportFinance SupportSupports colleagues with compliant spending and recording against research grantsPurchasing card to support departmental activities as requiredGeneral Administrative SupportMaintaining the department’s web pagesAdministrative support to managers of research projectsAdministrative support to the Head of Department, Department Manager, Research Facilitator, Director of ResearchWorking with the Editor and production team at Taylor & FrancisManagement and planning of issues in liaison with the EditorCoordinate edited collections with the EditorCoordinate and attend Editorial meetingsProcessing of manuscripts submitted to iCS through Scholar OneManaging special issues, involving liaising and coordinating with Guest EditorsManaging the paper backlog to ensure that papers are published in the appropriate orderEnsuring that the journal runs to the strict publishing scheduleAssisting Guest Editors and authors with using Scholar One. Dealing with editorial and technical queries.Formatting of papers to ‘house-style’ and preparing for production at Taylor & Francis
