Speech-Language Pathologist
Current•Administer & interpret diagnostic evaluations and design & implement appropriate treatment plans for adults with aphasia, chronic cough, cognitive communication deficits, dysarthria, dysphagia, memory loss, paradoxical vocal fold motion, and voice disorders•Perform outpatient videofluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS) and videostroboscopy•Administer & interpret diagnostic evaluations and design & implement appropriate treatment plans for children with articulation difficulties, paradoxical vocal fold motion, and voice disorders•Provide evidence-based therapy specific to aphasia, articulation, chronic cough, cognitive communication, dysarthria, dysphagia, language (receptive & expressive), memory, paradoxical vocal fold motion, and voice (notably gender-affirming voice & communication training), tailoring techniques & strategies to each individual patient to allow for maximum success•Complete related documentation and communication with patients, families, physicians, and other medical professionals within & outside of SSM Health Dean Medical Group in a timely manner•Serve as Speech-Language Pathology leader for the Committee on Cancer and as co-leader for the Interdisciplinary Cancer Rehab Group, as well as a member of the Combined Therapy Neuro Specialty Group, Infection Control Committee, Interview Team, Record Review Team, and Patient Experience Team at SSM Health Dean Medical Group•Supervise second-year graduate students, which includes teaching clinical intervention skills, developing treatment plans, providing oral and written feedback, and assisting students in integrating theory with best clinical practice•Participate in training opportunities to further specialize in the treatment of dysphagia related to head & neck cancer, which has allowed for the development of a head & neck cancer protocol specific to SSM Health Dean Medical Group Speech-Language Pathology
