I am a multilingual, self-proclaimed language junkie (English, French, Kiswahili), humanitarian aid worker, and international development (ID) professional with an advanced (MSc) degree in and passion for migration and development. I am currently pursuing additional (post)graduate study (MA - African Studies & Intensive Language) to further enrich my ID practice with a more formal knowledge of socio-linguistics, cultural anthropology, international relations & politics. I also enjoy learning (and have a proven ability to quickly pick up) other Bantu (e.g. Kinyarwanda & Shona) and Romance (e.g. Italian and Spanish) languages.My experience and skillset center on designing, securing, planning, and implementing (emergency humanitarian & longer-term development) programming for vulnerable, often conflict-affected populations (including and especially women and girls). I have over 8 years of experience working in the realms of program quality and program development (e.g., resource mobilization/new business development, donor & stakeholder engagement, etc...), as well as program management and coordination - including almost a decade living in countries across the African continent (DR Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia, Togo, and Zimbabwe) while predominantly working for organizations such as the US Peace Corps, Mercy Corps, and CARE International.
