TKAT is one of the largest multi-academy trusts in the south of England, with 44 schools (primary and secondary).Remit of the post as Lead HR Business Partner: to contribute to the leadership of the HR function, overseeing employee relations advisory work whilst also acting as the HR business partner for a specified region of the Trust. Leading on a range of regional and trust-wide HR projects.Key activities include:- Employee relations casework: providing a senior ER advisory role within the team, contributing directly to the management of complex cases (including dismissals and appeals), leading the HR elements of TUPE transfers into the Trust;- Designing and delivering HR training for managers and governors, including: Safer Recruitment (accredited trainer), performance management, absence management, managing a disciplinary hearing, conducting a management investigation, managing difficult conversations;- Policy development: reviewing and developing HR policies/procedures, in line with employment legislation and good practice, and facilitating the process of consultation on new and/or revised policies with internal stakeholders and the Trust's recognised Trade Unions;- Project management: leading on Trust-wide projects and initiatives including: collation and analysis of Gender Pay Gap data, encouraging and supporting the use of apprenticeships as part of the Trust's resource and development planning, and contributing to a Trust-wide approach to Employee Wellbeing.- Mediation: I have successfully facilitated a number of internal workplace mediation projects.

Remit of the post: to enhance performance and efficiency in support of Birkbeck's Mission through delivery of the College's People Strategy, in particular through the effective leadership and management of a team of HR Business Partners, and by working collaboratively with colleagues as a member of the HR Leadership Team and the College's HR Strategy and Policy Committee.Key responsibilities included:- Team leadership: leading a team of three HR Business Partners, to support the full range of academic and support functions of the College.- Employee relations: providing, through the HRBP team, an effective employee relations advisory and support service for managers, and contributing directly to the management of complex casework (including dismissals and appeals).- Project management: working with the Director of HR and other senior College managers on cross-College projects.- Process improvement: working with a range of colleagues to continually review and improve HR processes and practices, making recommendations for improvements to policy/procedure in line with changing legislation and the changing needs of the College.- HR strategy: as a member of the HR leadership team, contributing to the development and delivery of the People Strategy, in support of the College's mission and objectives.

Key responsibilities of the post included:- Team leadership: leading a small team of HR administrators;- Employee relations: providing advice and support to a number of academic and support departments in relation to a wide range of people management issues (disciplinary, grievance, performance, attendance);- Change management: supporting a number of restructure and/or redundancy projects, ensuring compliance with legislation and good practice, whist achieving reductions in line with required timescales and budgetary constraints;- Workforce planning: supporting Heads of Department with the annual planning process, to ensure accurate salary forecasting and timely follow-up action on any recruitment or contractual changes needed;- Job evaluation: providing advice on the grading of posts, carrying out HERA evaluations for new or amended roles.
