Sarah Solís is a Costa Rican graphic designer and artist raised in Colorado, pursuing a BFA in graphic design at the University of Florida. She plans to work towards a master’s degree in art direction post-graduation.Sarah works as a graphic designer at the Agency at UF, a student-run communications firm where she has designed for University of Florida, Disney Advertising, and the Americanish movie premiere. In the Agency’s creative department, she collaborates with multiple departments to deliver strategic design results backed by data and research. The Agency has given her the opportunity to understand client communication and designer collaboration in a corporate setting. She also works for UF Information Technology and assists users by troubleshooting on Adobe Photoshop and Foxit, in addition to printing and formatting posters for plotting. Sarah has acquired leadership experience through her past involvements with the National Hispanic Institute, Ronald Reagan Leadership Program, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Global Leaders and Destino, a Latino Campus Ministry.Her lifelong love of art is what inspired her desire to pursue design as a career. Sarah’s artwork is driven by her connection to nature which she explores through ink illustration, glass lampwork, paper cutting, gouache painting, and ceramics. Sarah is interested in learning more about motion graphics in After Effects. She was recently inspired to explore this aspect of graphic design after hand-illustrating and editing a stop motion short film with Premiere Pro. Outside of class, she enjoys competing for UF club synchronized swimming and challenging herself during practice.
