Sarah Sopher is a 2020 graduate of the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland. Currently, Sarah works as a marketing coordinator for Head Start. She is also a freelance photographer. She completed a sports writing internship with PressBox. She served as photographer and photo editor for Testudo Times and formerly worked as a photo editor for The Left Bench. Sarah does sports, portrait and landscape photography. She photographed the sports teams at the University of Maryland and covered the 2017 B10 Tournament for The Left Bench. She has also written articles for The Left Bench and other campus publications.Sarah is the oldest of four children and spends much of her free time with her family and friends. She has lived in Maryland most of her life but she spent time in Charleston, West Virginia with extended family. She grew up having many pets and has been a horseback rider for more than 17 years. When she isn’t writing or photographing, she likes to ride her horses, hang out with her dogs and staunchly defend her view that horseback riding is a sport.
