I joined Belvedere Mead Limited to develop quality expert services to the personal injury claims world. Large and catastrophic loss is my field of business, but I also offer services in relation to static claims management, settlement strategy for mid-range, complex or challenging claims, as well as mentoring, peer reviews and training. I have carried out a number of reinsurer cedent reviews in relation to motor business and actively assist Elaine Mason, Belvedere Meads company director, in developing future projects for our expanding team. We specialise in providing assistance, advice and guidance at times of need, such as during resource strain, company reorganisation and restructure, or indeed at any time where claims expertise, training or interim claims management is required. My specific area of the business offers not only claims review and audit services, but also effective practical claims management. This incorporates hands on negotiation, ongoing targetted tactical strategy and direction, particularly useful for those more contentious cases that require either new direction or expert handling to facilitate economic settlement and reduced lifecycle/deterioration.

I offer a bespoke niche advisory service to Insurers and Reinsurers in relation to large loss and catastrophic personal injury claims and also training to Solicitors in relation to what Insurers need from their advisors.

Centralized Large Loss Team Leader, responsible for reviewing, advising and allocating all claims with an incurred figure exceeding £50,000.Responsible for a portfolio of claims estimated at a total value in excess of £85m. This included the highest value claims within the Group.Mentor and leader of the Large Loss Unit, providing support, training and advice to all handlers within Large Loss and also to Team Leaders and other claims staff within the Technical Claims area. Liaising with underwriters and finance teams to ensure smooth running of the entire Groups large loss function.

Public facing sub-branch of a major insurer, dealing in personal lines businessDuties included dealing with face-to-face insurance enquiries, for both household buildings and contents, motor insurance and indeed queries in relation to new and outstanding motor and household claims.Every three to four months, I was required to provide the 'cashiers' function within the sub-branch, dealing with incoming cash, banking, setting up and maintaining direct debits, refunding or requesting monies due in relation to policy amendments or cancellations etc.Setting up and handing new motor claims, to include instructing and authorizing engineers to inspect and arrange repair of policyholders vehicles, recover the Insurers subsequent outlay or deal with and settle third party claims on the best terms.Setting up and handling new household claims, including the appointing of external adjusters if required for claims such as fire, theft, storm, subsidence etc.Each clerk within the sub office was also required to have a full knowledge of the outgoing postal system, which included weighing and franking post and bagging it ready for collection.
