As a medical student at Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine, I am pursuing my passion for providing quality healthcare to underserved communities. With a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of St. Thomas, I have a strong foundation in the principles and applications of molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry.For the past year and a half, I have been working as a research technician and a laboratory helper at Baylor College of Medicine, where I have gained valuable experience in virology and immunology. I have contributed to multiple publications on the prevalence and implications of SARS-CoV-2 variants in the Dominican Republic, and I have performed various laboratory techniques, such as DNA extraction, PCR, and sequencing. I am also a skilled writer, having published on my blog One Legged Wanderlust, which chronicles my travels and adventures as an amputee.
