The desire to share my love of dance and movement is a driving force in my life and teaching career. Pilates: I work with all ages, body types, and fitness levels with the purpose of helping you gain and maintain balance, strength, flexibility, and a sense of ease and comfort moving in your body. Pilates fosters my mind-body connection, continues to help me find new strength and muscles, rehabilitates me when injured, and maintains the flexibility of my spine and limbs. The joy of being an instructor is getting to share this with my clients. Ballet: I started dance classes at three years old and by the time I turned eight, knew I wanted to focus solely on ballet. I trained at Contra Costa Ballet Centre in Walnut Creek under the direction of Zola Dishong, Richard Cammack, Charles Anderson, Rachel Greenwood, and Nikolai Kabaniaev.I also trained at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C. and have performed various roles in the classical ballets La Sylphide, Paquita, La Bayadere, and The Nutcracker, as well as in several contemporary pieces.I studied classical ballet technique encompassing Vaganova and Balanchine style, Petipa and Balanchine repertoire, and character dance. Today, I have the gift of teaching the same technique, styles, and repertoire to ballet dancers beginning to advanced level adults, and children and teenagers of all levels.I teach ballet and Pilates at Piedmont Ballet in Oakland and Conservatory of Classical Ballet in San Leandro. I teach Pilates at Turning Point Studios in Walnut Creek, The Centered Body in Pleasant Hill, and on Zoom. Community Organizer: I am the Coordinator of the organization Conscious Contra Costa. We are a large group of community members from, or currently living in Danville, CA. We formed in response to the murder of Tyrell Wilson by a Contra Costa Sheriff’s Deputy in 2021 and work closely with other organizations in Contra Costa on issues such as police accountability, anti-racism education, and support for families of police violence. We advocate for social justice, racial equity and accountable power structures in our community.
