Phd StudentImperial College London 2006 - 2012I studied for my PhD at Imperial College London and the Institue of Cancer Research, under the supervision of Prof Keith WIllison and Prof Robin Leatherbarrow. I investigated the folding of actin and the WD40 repeat containing protein Cdh1 by the molecular chaperone CCT using fluorescence spectroscopy. Through site-specific labelling with fluorophores I was able to observe actin folding in vitro and study the kinetics and mechanism of the reaction. I used a range of techniques including protein expression and purification, derivatisation of fluorophores and fluorescence spectroscopy.
