As a Financial Analyst, my overall responsibilities were overseeing accounting, providing variance analysis, facilitating budgeting process, quarterly budget re-forecasting, and screening capital investment requests. I managed the location’s transition to a new, SAP accounting system. I created an internal, forecasting tool allowing management to control cash flows in order to meet monthly, quarterly and annual fiscal goals. I cleared requests for capital investment to be sent to senior management for final approval.

As a seasonal Tax Associate, I worked with clients to prepare tax returns. In addition, I advised clients on financial opportunities which can increase their financial stability based upon individual fiscal goals.

My general responsibilities were conducting financial variance analysis, overseeing budget development, bookkeeping, performing customer service, supervising part-time office employees and volunteers, managing databases, coordinating multiple art galleries, and scheduling meeting rooms. I compiled and evaluated monthly financial reports that were key to the organization achieving over 60% of its 10 year goal for cash reserves within 3 years.I also revised, proposed and implemented bookkeeping and database management procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy. During first six months of implementation, these procedures led to 120% increase in donations and a 78% collection of accounts receivable invoices over 90 days past due. I redesigned and executed annual budgeting process improving efficiency and creating transparency.

Responsible for conducting program enrollment, room rental, A/R, collections, and customer service. I developed a procedure manual for A/R system increasing the department’s efficiency.I raised funds and lead the committee which organized a summer activities program for teenagers.

As the first manager of a new, regional training program for nonprofit management and boards, I was responsible for marketing, service coordination, and contracting with workshop presenters. I established customer relationships throughout Northwest Indiana, building our initial client base.I organized and promoted customized workshops on nonprofit management throughout region based on customers’ needs.
