Responsible for maintaining and extending the Earthworks Grade ControlPlatform, which is a system that assists heavy machine operators to performoperational tasks with more ease and efficiency by providing guidance to themachine, and automating the controls. I primarily worked in the backend withC++, Java, and Python. At times I would work on the frontend web component inTypeScript.I specialised in feature development for excavators, such as providing supportfor new machine components (such as buckets, tiltrotators etc), and enablingnew machine types to be compatible with the Earthworks app on a tablet in thecab with the operator. I was fortunate enough to gain valuable project managerexperience from shadowing/being mentored by senior project managers, andspent some time per week participating in project manager activities.

Tutor for ENGR101 Fundamentals of Engineering and COSC121 Introduction to Computer Programming.Both roles required planning and delivering my own workshops and helpsessions for students. The role also required marking and evaluating studentacademic performance. Being a tutor required a lot of empathy and analyticalskills, and I offered help/assistance to them when required. I found I wasparticularly good at provoking thought from students, so they could come to thesolution on their own rather than “giving” them the answer.
