As a Chartered Accountant and Director of Max Accountants, I predominantly work with early-stage technology and high-growth companies, providing the specialist services they require, such as R&D tax credits, (S)EIS tax relief, EMI scheme implementation and FD/CFO support. Our mission is to be the accounting partner of choice for the tech community, and we combine our expert knowledge with the latest cloud-based tools to deliver scalable support for businesses of all sizes. This is made possible by a team of talented, driven individuals who share our values. ‘A square peg in a square hole’ was used to describe me in my first ever appraisal – a relief given that I had never planned to be an accountant! I qualified with Deloitte, spending a further 6 years in their Fiscal Valuation department. With a growing family, the daily commute to Nottingham became untenable and I decided to spend some time working locally in industry, prior to joining Max Accountants in 2013. Since then, I have been able to continually expand my knowledge and skills, working with ambitious businesses in a fascinating sector.Outside of work, I love watching rugby - be it my children playing for their school/club, the mighty Leicester Tigers down at Welford Road, or England in the Internationals. I also play netball most weekends and am proud to still be able to share the court with my eldest daughter! Finally, travelling is a life-long passion and I enjoy nothing more than escaping to warmer climes at every opportunity.
