Sarah Van Leuven is associate professor at the department of Communication Sciences at Ghent University, teaching the courses "Journalistic News Gathering and Production" (2Ba), "Contemporary Aspects of Journalism" (Ma), "Politics and Media" (Ma) and "Content and Textual Analysis" (3Ba). She is also head of the research group Center for Journalism Studies (CJS) and head of the Journalism Division of the Netherlands-Flanders Communication Association (NeFCA). In 2013, she has finished a PhD on the public sphere and sourcing practices in international news coverage. Currently her work focuses on news production and content (e.g. sourcing practices, framing, gender in newsrooms), new news consumption practices and innovation in newsrooms. She has published several articles in journals such as Journalism Practice, Journalism Studies, Journalism, New Media & Society, and The International Journal of Press/Politics.
