Working within the Automotive Industry and alongside government (BEIS) to help bring low carbon propulsion technologies to market. This includes working with OEMs, Tier 1 companies/consultancies, SME's and research organisations. I am working as a Project Engineer within the Product Engineering department at Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems.MABS is one of the Strategic Business Units (SBUs) that is taking part in the Meggitt Modular Modifiable Manufacturing (M4) Project, which also has backing from Aerospace Technology Institute, IBM, Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) and the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). https://www.meggitt.com/m4-intelligent-manufacturing/My main role within this project is to be the MABS SBU representative in all aspects of the project and input into all work packages when information is required.Some of my responsibilities have included:- Representing MABS to external customers- Contributing to and reviewing design and specification documentation- Liaising with other SBUs as well as the external partners of the project- Provide updates internally throughout the project to managers- Inter-departmental communication; Planning, Continuous Improvement, Export Compliance- Data collection across the business- Daily Layered Accountability- Weekly project update meetings and actions- Time management

Carrying on from my Graduate Scheme I have taken up a position within the manufacturing department.Since starting this position i have undertaken a number of courses and training to help gain proficiency in Surface Mount Technology (SMT), namely:- solder paste Screen Printer (DEK) - operator training, and programming training to follow- X-Ray inspection equipment (Dage) - operation- Automatic Optical Inspection (Cyberoptics) - programming of a new recipeAdditional to the above training courses I have also attend a Machine Directive course at the Health and Saftely Lab as well as a Radiation Protection Supervisor training held by Public Health England.I have been part of a team that has ensured that our company has maintained merit status during our latest NADCAP audit.Some of my roles and responsibilties include:- Continuous improvement activities- Weekly risk review updates and actions- Documentation review, maintenance and updates.

Industrial Placement responsibilities and projects consisted of: - Assisting in the implementation of Kanban and Lean practice across an Electronics Value Stream. - Ensuring safe and best practice through monitoring of Top X and risk assessments. - This entailed carrying out risk assessments for manufacturing machinery and processes. - Sourcing and ordering of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) compliant equipment. - Help working towards maintaining good ESD compliance within the EPAs (Electrostatic Protective Areas)
