I have been successful in 4 roles in 3 years at Maple Leaf Foods, including Process Specialist, Production Supervisor, Associate Product Developer (Pilot Plant), and Associate Product Developer (Poultry Category). Over these four years, I have seen a mega-facility commissioned from the ground up, been involved in validating and on-boarding new technologies and production lines, setting up SOPs to be used daily, temperature validations, PG testing, managing and supervising employees, recipe development, sample development, and so much more. I have had the opportunity to get involved, interact, and create great relationships with suppliers, customers, co-manufacturers, QA departments, RA departments, plant employees, etc.Prior to my work at MLF, I was hired in a number of Quality assurance roles during summer months while completing my Undergraduate and Master's degree in Food Science at the University of Guelph. I also had the privilege to work at Massey University in New Zealand, while completing my research. On the side, I have been involved in the Dance industry for many years; competing for 10 years and then teaching for 10 years. All of these roles combined have allowed for a proven track record of successfully organizing, managing, and completing numerous parallel projects, including technical support, sensory and quality assurance initiatives.

Product Development AssociateMaple Leaf Foods Inc Sep 2015 - Dec 2018Mississauga, On, CaDuring my time in the Product Development department, I spent one year working in the pilot plant where I created bench top samples of all kinds. Everything from bacon, to wieners, ham, dried-cured products, and more. These samples were mostly used for our Sales and Marketing teams to win over customers and grow the business. One example is samples for the Maple Leaf Canadian Craft line-up, which has been named "the greatest food launch". Samples were also used for sensory testing which I assisted in executing. Other responsibilities include: temperature validations, plant trials, recipe development, scheduling, and raw material orders. This role allowed me to create relationships cross-functionally and gain valuable knowledge in all categories of MLF.To progress my career, I advanced to the Fresh Poultry category where I have created great relationships with suppliers, MLF Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs departments, Co-Manufacturing facilities, MLF fresh and further processed factories, as well as our Canning facility. Majority of responsibilities have been involved with IQF SKUs, but have also gained a vast knowledge in recipe development, MLF health and wellness initiative, using SAP computer program, temperature validation at our Canning facility and plant trials in our fresh and further processed factories. -
