Drum Teacher And Rhythm Section Leader

Current

Calgary, Alberta, Canada

I recently began teaching drum lessons again, which as been a joy to do. I also began helping the student ensemble and giving some leadership to the rhythm section. I enjoy working with students and helping them to grow in their love for music. It's great to be able to share my skill and passion for music with my students. It's especially enjoyable that this happens in a faith-based place where we can use Christian music.

Program Director/Music Director/Litcoordinator/Counsellor

Winnipeg, Canada Area

I started my summers on staff as a counsellor in 2004: leading cabins in morning devotionals, teaching a daily skill and being involved in other program elements. After the summer was finished I began working as a year round followup staff in the office. I met with campers and I planned and led our weekly events. In the summers of 2009 and 2010 I was the Music Director. I planned the program music elements and I led the band in their daily practice and performance. Being a director also meant I was now in leadership over our counselling team and was in a position of mentorship for a small group of staff. In 2011 I began as the Program Director which involved leading a team of staff in summer ministry to teenagers. Planning and leading the camp program. Meeting with and mentoring a small group of staff. The summer of 2012 in addition to my Program Director position I was an LIT Coordinator which involved teaching and leading a group of students. My co-worker and I led our group in various theological discussions, different areas of service and times of book reading and homework.Lastly in 2013 I returned to only directing the program. My job was done well for me as I left halfway through the summer to travel to Thailand with my church youth group. I returned in fall to continue planning and leading our weekly evening events. Throughout all my summers I've been involved in giving evening talks/sermons, leading worship singing, singing performance songs, and acting in dramas and comedies.
