At MoFA, she worked as the 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘬 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳-𝘕𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘮, 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘬 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘴𝘪𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘴 𝘉𝘰𝘯𝘯. Previously, she also worked in the public policy sphere in Afghanistan at the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG). Sara brings with her immense experience in the field of international affairs and diplomacy, having worked with practitioners and scholars all across the world. The highlight of her international career has been 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗳𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆. Beyond that, Sara is a passionate advocate for women and youth empowerment and issues related to fragility, conflict, violence, and governance. Her focus areas include counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, peacebuilding, economic development, human rights, community development, and political power.
