Serving with AmeriCorps Legal Advocates of Massachusetts through one of BU Law's experiential learning clinics, the "Immigrants' Rights and Human Trafficking Program." Working with clients, attorneys, and law students to provide legal aid to immigrants and survivors of human trafficking.

Interned with the Administration of Children and Families, within the Department of Health and Human Services, on policies surrounding homelessness. Duties included: planning and organizing meetings with other departments within ACF and HHS; contributing to a Dear Colleague Letter surrounding usage of TANF to support homeless populations; planning an educational webinar series about state-based funding opportunities to support local unhoused populations; researching and beginning to plan additional education around housing resources for foster youth and housing-insecure youth.

Led a team of 10 students working design, marketing, research, and outreach to establish a "culture of voting" in on campus and in Philadelphia. Collaborated with administration, school publications, and student body. Coordinated, and staffed voter registration drives, voter education events, and bipartisan educational materials on local elections. Continued working on projects in the months after graduation, working with the registrar's office to allow students to register to vote using our official class registration interface, Path@Penn. Also continued working on recruiting and designing a research study on voter education on Penn's campus.

Coordinated partnerships between cultural houses, residential services, and alumni relations to increase local youth votership. Worked primarily with cultural houses and college houses to staff voter registration drives, voter education events, and bipartisan educational materials on local elections. Hired and managed a team of "language fellow" interns, and assigned projects for translating voting documents into Spanish, Arabic, French, Turkish, and Bangla.

Coordinated and founded an afterschool program for local high school students to learn to use high-tech crafting equipment at UPenn’s high-tech business-innovation space, Tangen Hall. Fostered communication between the local school and UPenn, maintaining contact and scheduling logistics of the program.

Internship with the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor in the Office of Near East Asia. Worked alongside FSOs producing event toplines and information memos, and participated in a research project on Iranian protests. Worked closely with the officers overseeing Iran and Iraq, participating in research on recent Iranian protest movements. Participated in educational and professional development workshops.

Participated as one of four interns, through the Islamic Scholarship Fund, matched with the Office of Rep. Cori Bush. Researched legislation for House Judiciary and Oversight Committees; assisted in drafting memos on FISA, Rwanda, DHS practices, EPA, and Qualified Immunity legislation. Drafted remarks for the Congresswoman for House Committee hearings, press conferences, and social media. Welcomed constituents at the front desk and organized telephone, email, policy and calendar-related documents.

Led a nutrition-education class for 15 high school students; Designed and implemented an 8-week curriculum, including cooking demonstrations, food-justice seminars, resumeworkshops, college tours, and outreach projects for the students to lead with local middle schoolers.
