As a trusts & estates and elder law attorney, I am privileged to help individuals and their families craft creative solutions that allow them to age with dignity, remain independent in the community and plan for the future. I advise clients and draft documents in matters related to wills, trust formation, probate and administration, taxation, wealth transfer, Medicaid applications, disability planning and fertility law agreements that ultimately help clients reach their individual goals. While financial goals are important, family dynamics and personal wishes are also fundamental parts of the planning equation. After much work and reflection, I find that the legal, financial and family dynamics come together for a sensible solution. I find great joy in a family leaving my office feeling reassured and better prepared for the future. In addition to my practice, I devote great energy to related volunteer commitments. As a Co-Chair for the Senior Law Day Collaborative, I have worked hard to expand our community workshops, in particular the legal and financial free consultations available to seniors. Whether you are a professional dealing with financial planning and elder care issues or have questions about your own situation, please feel free to contact me at ssteckler@wbny.com.
