After reviewing my CV, a male headhunter once remarked that I had ridden many horses. I responded that I like to ride far and fast -- and to do that, you almost always need more than one horse.After almost 3 decades working at the intersection of banking, legal and tech M&A, I am used to comments like these. But I’m done waiting for mindsets to change. Instead, I am building an ecosystem to support the next generation of female leaders in tech — and get more capital in the hands of women. Female founders exit quicker and outperform their male counterparts. Nonetheless they receive less than 2% of venture capital funding and less than 5% of them make it to their Series B raise. Last year, I launched Helena Capital in order to flip that narrative — but also to make a bunch of money off the back of a serious market inefficiency. Our targets represent a heretofore invisible, undervalued & underfunded asset class creating a significantly de-risked arbitrage opportunity.
