I am currently a senior at Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business, majoring in Health Information Management with a focus on Analytics. I have a strong medical background, and I am currently employed at Borgess Hospital in patient registration and billing. Previously, I was employed at Bronson Hospital in staffing solutions, and as a rehabilitation staffing assistant.Upon graduation in December, 2015, I plan to work with computer programs used in hospitals, such as Epic or Athena. I would like to educate new users in the functions of the systems, as well as help make the systems easier for users to utilize at full potential. While working in staffing, I learned the valuable skill of time management and problem solving while working within strict time constraints. As a rehabilitation staffing assistant, I learned to work as a team to achieve the best patient outcomes. My current position has given me valuable practice with Excel, Word, and Access, as well as furthering my computer skills, and interpersonal communication skills. I gained eight years of experience working within the hospital system. I am proficient with many of the commonly used computer systems such as Epic, Athena, Cerner, and Solcom. During my free time, I enjoy outdoor pursuits, such as kayaking, hiking, biking, and boating.
