I am a former daily newspaper journalist with experience in copywriting, content creation, magazine editing, digital marketing, social media management and strategic marketing. I began my career as a newspaper journalist, trained at The Press Association's Editorial Centre in Hastings. I reported for Archant titles including The Advertiser series, Eastern Daily Press and Norwich Evening News.I developed an increasing passion for digital media and, after four years working in print, I moved into digital content management. I spent three years with Global Radio as Regional Content Manager, responsible for content and growth on four commercial radio station websites across the east of England.In 2009 I took the opportunity to spend two years working in Australia where I joined the digital and international marketing teams at Universal Music Group in Sydney on a Working Holiday Visa.Back in the UK, an opportunity arose to combine my love of travel with writing and I began working in destination marketing at VisitNorwich. I was responsible for writing and producing printed visitor guides and publications. My role was to look after the publications in their entirety from writing editorial and selling advertising to overseeing design, pagination, print and nationwide distribution. I also wrote editorial for the VisitNorwich blog - City of Stories.My personal time is still dominated by writing, I have blogged for TNT, Metro UK and AllAbroadUK. I was interviewed by Sky News as a featured travel blogger, commenting on the advancement of technology in travel. I am also interested in photography and recently had my first travel photo featured in Lonely Planet magazine.I took a wonderful career break in 2018 to raise my young children. During these years I revisited my love of psychology and decided to take a new career path working with children and young people. In 2023 I began an incredibly rewarding role working in Employer Engagement with a large education trust.Working with children has reignited my interest in mental health and wellbeing and I am regularly increasing my learning and building on my psychology degree with a series of courses from the Open University. I have a particular interest in research around improving mental health and emotional stability in children and young people.
