With loan and investment originations of over $5.4 billion and over $1.5 billion of assets under management at the time it was acquired by Ares Management in August, 2011, Wrightwood Capital was a leader in commercial real estate finance and investment, providing debt and equity to the real estate industry nationwide and attractive risk-adjusted returns to investors. As Managing Director, Operations and General Counsel, Sara was primarily responsible for the Company’s enterprise risk management, compliance, corporate governance and communications strategy, overseeing the Company’s non-financial operations, including legal, human resources, marketing, investor relations, information technology and office services. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, she served as a member of the Executive Committee and participated in formulating and implementing corporate strategy and structuring and executing the Company’s capital initiatives to raise both debt and equity on and off balance sheet. In addition, Sara served on the Investment Committee, crafting solutions to mitigate risks presented in, and approving, the Company’s proposed investments. Sara also served as Secretary to the Company’s Board of Managers, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Board on all Board related matters.

As the most senior woman on Hyatt’s managing team and a member of the Managing Committee, Sara managed the legal risks associated with Hyatt’s world-wide hospitality operations and transactions, leading Hyatt’s Legal Department and collaborating with functional and field management in a wide variety of areas, including operations, development, finance, accounting, tax, audit, internal controls, owner relations, sales, marketing, intellectual property, information systems and strategy, risk management, labor and employment. Sara was also responsible for issues related to the development, finance and ownership of company-owned hospitality assets. Sara began her career at Hyatt’s domestic development affiliate structuring and negotiating management, venture, development and finance agreements.

Practice concentrated in commercial real estate transactions, including real property and business acquisitions and dispositions, land use, leasing, secured lending and workouts, on behalf of developers, health care organizations, lenders, borrowers, landlords and tenants.
