I joined the Capitalize for Kids team in July 2018 after leaving the position of Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Beacon Hall Golf Club. In my previous role, I was responsible for managing daily operations and the planning and execution of a wide range of golf tournaments and other member-based and contracted events. During my tenure at Beacon Hall, I spent time volunteering with Victim’s Services Toronto, York Region Children’s Aid Society and Kennedy House Youth Shelter. Prior to Beacon Hall, I was a Registered Early Childhood Educator and Instructor Therapist, with a focus on working with children with various developmental and behavioural disorders as a front-line practitioner. I hold both a Bachelor of Child Development from Seneca College and a Graduate Certificate in Youth Justice & Interventions from Durham College. While completing my Bachelor degree, I completed an honours research paper in which I analyzed and assessed the field placement program at the college and presented the results to the Faculty Board of the School of Early Childhood Education at the school to foster change and develop the program into an experience that would better prepare students moving forward to work with young children and vulnerable populations. In my time outside of work, I am a developing wine connoisseur, an active runner and enjoy the performance arts.
