Manage in-home pet sitting services to over 50 clients across the Des Moines Metro, developed a social media presence and strategy to showcase my services, share testimonials, and engage with prospects through targeted ads and marketing campaigns, and designed a user-friendly website with a personal connection to pet care.

Developed and managed a comprehensive strategic communications plan to maximize earned media coverage of research-based messaging across the state. I served as the primary press contact for the organization, which included giving statements on the record, and wrote various standard materials like press releases, media advisories, talking points, online content and a daily newsletter. I proactively searched for engagement opportunities for diverse audiences, and managed a communications calendar and coordinated with staff, consultants and partners to meet relevant timelines and deadlines. Other responsibilities included updating blogs, recruiting and training Op-Ed and LTE writers, and deployed creative earned media tactics.

Advanced The Trevor Project’s mission through media relations, crisis communications, rapid communications including state and federal advocacy efforts. I arranged speaking engagements including writing talking points, briefing notes and remarks, I also tracked anti-LGBTQ legislation across the nation where I gained extensive experience in crisis communications through rapid reaction to these bills. I also collaborated with the advocacy and research teams on issue campaigns across the nation, which secured various articles with national publications like CNN, The Washington Post and The New York Times through strategic pitching techniques. I also staffed various interviews to help provide insight into our extensive data and reporting

Developed monthly social media message sets for our members that address cancer control, awareness, and observances, wrote and coordinated two blog posts per month, created original, branded graphics for social media, developed evergreen content for the Consortium, assisted with monthly e-newsletter, and helped with design for the 2022 Annual Report & 2023-2027 Iowa Cancer Plan.

Responsibilities included internal and external written communications and advertising/marketing campaigns, utilized social media accounts to communicate with congregants and community, coordinated all email and physical mailings to the congregation, worked with staff, board and committees to organize, execute and advertise programming and events for the benefit of the congregation, and also included procuring food and supplies.

Assisted the Executive Director, Finance Director, and Candidate Services Director with advancing constituency engagement across Iowa through outreach initiatives and managed my own project keeping track of democratic candidates in all 99 counties to support their campaings from the ground up.

Researched and tracked all public statements made by United States Senators and Representatives, categorized statements in an online data registry, and kept up to date on current bills related to senators and representative's statements.
