After selling Moz to J2 Global and assisting with the integration, I took time off to travel, volunteer, invest, and spend time with my family. Here are some of the ways I spent my time:VOLUNTEERING: I volunteered at the Moonshot Platform, a non-profit helping emerging leaders around the world launch social benefit businesses. It was incredibly rewarding to work with these talented and passionate entrepreneurs.INVESTING: I invested in Pair Tree because I support their mission to make adoption better and more affordable for families and birth mothers. I also became a Limited Partner at Graham & Walker, Bolster Ventures, and the Capital Fund. I also helped a couple friends on their startups, and became a formal advisory board member for Orb, Inc.MYCOLOGY: I dove deep into my mycology hobby, learning to ID mushrooms, building a home lab for PCR barcoding and cultivation, and learning to grow Oysters, Reishi, Lion's Mane, Shitake, and other species. I'm a member of the Puget Sound Mycological Society and the North American Truffle Growers Association.FAMILY: I also enjoyed family time, international travel, and survived a home renovation project.I'm looking for my next CEO role where I can create a new market category, build a high-performing team, manage cash in a dynamic environment, and develop a winning go-to-market strategy.
