I am a partner at King & Spalding. When times are tough, I work with companies who are in financial distress and with financial institutions who have loaned money to borrowers in financial distress. When times are good, I help clients structure and close complex real estate financing transactions. My favorite part of the job is negotiating. I am great listener and a creative problem solver. I really enjoy the art of finding and crafting a win-win solution for everyone.Last year, I completed a transaction for the sale of a distressed company with locations in more than 30 states. The sale was completed out of court on a basis that preserved thousands of jobs, maximized value for the stakeholders and minimized transaction costs and risk to the owners and managers. In another matter, I helped a client structure a real estate investment that was designed to obtain favorable accounting treatment for the investment vehicle while at the same time creating favorable tax and regulatory benefits for the investor. I have been a lawyer at K&S for more than 25 years and have been recognized for my work with my induction as a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy, my inclusion as a Band 1, Star Individual rated bankruptcy lawyer in Chambers, my inclusion as a recognized real estate lawyer in Legal 500 and Who's Who in Restructuring and Insolvency.My practice includes advising corporate boards. I provide seasoned and steady leadership and judgment to boards who are navigating difficult and complex issues. Prior to its merger with Renasant Bank (RNST), I served as a member of the board of Brand Bank, a regional banking company. That experience provided a unique view of what makes for effective board advisors. I also serve on the oard of Trustee's for the University of Virginia School of Law Foundation, the Dean's Advisory Board for the LSU Business School and the LSU National Campaign Board. I have recently joined the board of Action Ministries.
