Charlie House is an Aberdeen-based children’s charity which supports babies, children and young people with complex disabilities and life-limiting conditions, and their families, in the North-east of Scotland. Our current support network and free services include:• Family Activity Clubs• School Holiday Family Activity Clubs• Siblings Club• Parent Carers Club• Annual Kielder Activity Short Break • One-to-one emotional support for children, siblings and parents via our Children and Family Support Manager• Access to our private online family community • Access to our Community Children’s Nurse, stationed at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, who provides practical and emotional support to children from diagnosis, helping them transition home from a long hospital stay and continuing to support the child and their family on their life journeyCharlie House has launched its public ‘Big Build Appeal’ to engage and call on people in the North-east of Scotland to support its three-year fundraising campaign to raise £8millon for the Charlie House Specialist Support Centre. The specialist support centre, which will support babies, children and young people with complex disabilities and life-limiting conditions, will be built in the grounds of Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen. I have over 10 years PR and Marketing experience with a broad knowledge in the logistics of organising media relations and press trips. I have a background working in London PR agencies and have a highly creative flair with excellent press contacts across Europe and internationally. My experience spans both business to business and consumer accounts and I am the lead on a variety of client accounts, actively working with a broad selection of industry sectors. I have broad experience within the oil and gas industry. Whilst in my previous post I worked with clients such as Kongsberg Oil and Gas, KCA Deutag, Enterprise Engineering Services and Red Spider Technology and was instrumental in award winning consumer campaigns, including Visit Arran and World Vision. I have strong event management skills and have organised numerous press trips for a diverse range of publications, including international press. Currently, I am the PR Account Manager at AVC for major accounts including Highlands and Islands Airports, Sand Monitoring Services, Cornerstone and Prodrill.

I worked as an Account Manager at Aberdeen-based PR agency Tricker PR.I was part of a small team and led on a variety of accounts across a wide range of industries including oil and gas, recruitment, finance, charity and hospitality.My role involved developing PR and marketing plans and campaigns for clients, writing press releases and features, brochure and website copy writing, drafting award entries, generating ideas for publicity stunts, organising photocalls, arranging press trips, creating and updating social media sites for clients, booking advertising and crisis management. Through this activity I built excellent relationships with local and national media as well as trade press.I have also been responsible for Press Office Management and press breakfasts in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

During my time at this London based agency I worked across a number of brands in the fashion, beauty and retail sector including Avon, Blistex, Safilo and Beiersdorf. My role included press ring rounds to sell in products, celebrity product placement, issuing products to journalists on deadline, working with journalists to select looks for fashion features, collating press cuttings and monthly client reports and assisting on photographic shoots and at high profile events.
