About Sarah Brinkerhoff

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Department of Neurology. My work focuses on neuro-electrophysiology, where I collect and analyze electrophysiological data during deep brain stimulation surgeries. I also analyze the neurophysiological data, manage large datasets, and facilitate data sharing through national repositories. Alongside my primary neurophysiology work, I collaborate with psychologists on our team to lead statistical analyses on psychosocial data from patients with Parkinson's disease undergoing deep brain stimulation. Additionally, I specialize in data visualization and statistical analyses, particularly mixed-effects modeling.     My postdoctoral work includes coordinating research efforts for a UG3/UH3 grant through the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. This involves the colelction of intraoperative electrophysiolgoy data, as well as the management, visualization, analysis, and interpretation of research findings, preparing results for publication, and mentorship of graduate, medical, and undergraduate students in the lab. My work also involves sharing our data with the larger scientific community through the Data Archive for the BRAIN Initiative (DABI), with which I have developed extensive experience since January 2022.
