About Sarah Castillo

I began my professional career as a contractor for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. I learned from some incredible Immigration officers during my three year tenure with the agency. After graduating with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, I began working for the Federal Judiciary in the Southern District of Texas. I served as a Deputy Clerk for 12 years in Brownsville, Texas. In that capacity I worked alongside Federal Judges, U.S. Attorneys, Federal Public Defenders and United States Marshals to name a few. As year 12 came to a close, I began working in the Houston Division of the Southern District as a Human Resources Specialist. With this position, I hope to continue growing intellectually and professionally to better serve our communities. I'm an advocate for mental health and the professional and personal betterment of our staff. As a first generation Mexican American, I advocate for the professional growth of minorities within Law enforcement by fostering a culture of belonging within our agency.
